Have a real winner of a question:

Should the amount backed up as shown by the bpimagelist command match that as reported by the bpdbjobs be the same amount?

I completely forgot about this issue....

Until I noticed it again... Then I performed a search here and bam...

There is a difference between the "bpimaglist" & bpdbjobs amount backed up...

Here's an example...........

bpimagelist output:

03/14/2007 00:14 03/28/2007 12333 1084756 N Differential cscbk03_XXXXXX_OS_Unix
03/13/2007 00:14 03/27/2007 12334 1577077 N Differential cscbk03_XXXXXX_OS_Unix
03/12/2007 01:00 03/26/2007 12326 1111624 N Differential cscbk03_XXXXXX_OS_Unix

bpdbjobs output:

YYYYYY Backup Done cscbk03 1069096 10785 03/14/07 00:12:53 000:03:47 000:02:03 cscbk03_XXXXXX_OS_Unix Differential Incremental Backup
YYYYYY Backup Done cscbk03 1561418 12819 03/13/07 00:13:01 000:03:52 000:02:30 cscbk03_XXXXXX_OS_Unix Differential Incremental Backup
YYYYYY Backup Done cscbk03 1095965 13049 03/12/07 00:13:59 000:48:35 000:01:42 cscbk03_XXXXXX_OS_Unix Differential Incremental Backup

Probably something simple....

Maybe Netbackup throws pixie dust on it....

Thanks.........

Its also different if you dup the image to another storage unit of different multiplex level, even though the backup & duplication were done when no other backup activity present. Did opened ticket with Veritas, can't remember the exact statement but the reply was something like it's an acceptable if their readings are different and no harm to the integrity of the backup.
