Can i backup to local disk or share without installing Media Server in my subnet. Only using backup agent?

you must have a media server.
A media server in NetBackup lingo means a server that has a storage device.
The storage devise can be tape or disk

either way will require creating a storage unit and installation of a media server.Message was edited by:

Ok. Where netbackup save all needed information about backup - in media server or in master server? What happen if Media Server crashed?

The meta data exists on the master server

If it was backed up to tape then you can define an alternate media server or the master server to handle the restore.
If it was on disk then you would have a hard time recovering

If you lose a meida server and are running version 5.x or below then you mess up your media rotation, as tapes can't expire. And you may break Vault (if configured).
