Found a technote but it seems to refer to a network issue. The catalog backup is a local one, so not much to troubleshoot in terms of networking.

This times out after exactly 5 minutes so it would need the client read timeout increasing on the Media Servers Host Properties (possibly actually the Master Server?) - i would suggest 1800 as a starting point

Odd that it takes that long to get going but this is your starting point -maybe you have a very large catalog?

Set up the bpbkar log directory under \netbackup\logs\ so that it also gathers more info if thise deosn't sort it for you

Hope this helps

Wow, that simple fix just worked. The catalog is not that big thought. Anyway, it's fixed. So, thank you!
