Consolidating Media Servers

Good Afternoon, Forum,

I was wondering has anyone done a consolidation of media server. Currently, I have 19 media servers on a windows platform. I would like to consolidate our media servers to maybe 5 on a unix platform. We have mounts and unmounts currently. After we introduce replication, I would like to look at consolidation. Has anyone tried or at least looked at doing this.

I have done numerous media server consolidations using technote
De-commissioning a Media Server and removing it from the NetBackup configuration.

BUT never crossing hardware platforms.
That is a tuffy! (Just figuring out licensing!)
