Creating a policy that backup 1 whole server

Hi all,

Im new to netbackup. Can someoe guide me how create a policy that backup the entire server (solaris 10)?

The quick answer is to specify ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES in Backup Selection.
The long answer is to first understand what the server is used for and what type of data resides on it:
If it's a database server, best is to use the relevant database agent. You will then have 2 policies for this server - one for the database and another one for file systems. File system backup can still contain ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES in Backup Selection but you then need to add exclude_list on the Solaris server to exclude database files that are backed up by the agent.
If you have zones on this server, there are several ways to back those up, again depending on type of data in the zones...

Maybe you could give us a bit more info? That way we can provide better advice.

for backing up the whole server(unix)..!

while creating a policy u hav to select policy type as STANDARD
and in backup selection specify ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES
