Creating an FT Media Server Environment

Hi,

I need to implement an evironment with Netbackup that use San network to make backups.

But I have some doubts about this environment.

Questions:

Need I to configure one zoning between clients and Libraries or Storage?

Need I to configure zoning between FT Media Server and clients?

or

Need I to create two zones, The first one between FT Media Server and Client and the second between the FT Media Server and the client?

I  designed the environment (Atached).

I want suggestions and if possible corrections in my environment.

regards.

Tks.

You got the drawing correct. You need to create a zone between the client and the virtual tape drives  (ARCHIVE  Python ) the FT media server emulates. There is no change in the way back-end storage is zoned. Do not create zones between the client and back-end storage device.

Worth mentioning: FT media server only run on limited flavors of hardware. Check out the compatibility matrix :D

I configured the HBAs with the command nbftsrv_client -nbhba and adjusted the hab that is connected with the client how target.

After that I configured the port I run the command nbftsrv_client. But the service is not up and the message appear in the log No usable target mode controllers detected appear in the log.
