Hi all,

 1. I have performed MS-Windows backup  of few servers to a External Usb HDD(basic disk storage)  and sent the HDD to our DR site . I want to restore a particular folder of a server from this backup in my DR site where i have one more master server with same version with different hostname and its own EMM database . Can i import this back images and restore the file to alternate path ? please help .

Thanks in advance

A neat way to do it is to setup a disk storage unit on the DR Master and copy the files into it (or just set the disk you have as the storage unit location

Then, as pointed out, run the phase 1 and phase 2 imports against it

I always prefer to do it this way as it keep your images within a valid storage unit

Yes that can be done, Please run the phase 1 and phase 2 import on the disk once you have attached the HD to the server. You have to simply give the path to image.

Once import is done just go to BAR and select the correct soruce and destionation to redirect the restore.

hi,

yes, you can surely go ahead and import the images and try the restore.

alternativly, you can see the catalog recovery with out importing , which would be quick( this is for tapes, not sure if it works how its works for disk)
