I required solution for drive configuration newly added media server having Windows OS.

We have configure the Lib attach storage software and given acsls server name for testing, test looks good.

Configure the robot on windows media server with the following command:

#tpconfig -add -robot 4 -robtype ACS -cntlhost xyz.coolpix.com

Added drives with the following comand for ACS(4)

tpconfig -add -drive -type hcart -port 3 -bus 0 -target 4 -lun 0 -asciiname L4_4_2_1_8_SL85_10 -index 0 -drstatus up -robot 4 -robtype acs -LSM 2 -PANEL 1 -DRIVE 8 -shared yes

We have acsls library so on windows media server unable to configuer the drives and not able to up the daemons "acsd" it shows following daemons.

we have bounced the Netbackup services on windows server looks good.

D:\Program Files\VERITAS\NetBackup\bin>bpps

we could not able to see the drives under tpconfig -d command ? what could be the reason ?

Library = acsls server.

IBM drive = LTO4

Media server = Windows OS 2008 64bit.

Please suggest.

Which NBU version? Which LibAttach version?

This is important as certain NBU versions is only compatible with specific LibAttach version.

Before we carry on with troubleshooting on media server - is comms between media server and master server working correctly?

Please post following output from cmd on master server:

nbemmcmd -listhosts -verbose

Another question... Why are you using cmd to configure shared drives and not the Device Config Wizard?

What license keys were added on the Media server?
If traditional licensing, you need the following:
Enterprise Server or Enterprise Client
Library Based Taped Drives
Shared Storage Option
