Hi Wadhwa,

Could you elaborate a bit more? is it Windows/Linux/Solaris etc?

Does the OS see the robot & drives?

Does scan command return robot & drives?

While status 2001 is drive issue, status 96 isn't. You might want to call support so they can look at it quickly.

Cheers.

Your drive issue (2001) is probably causing your tapes to get frozen, resulting in no available tapes (96).

So, it seems your drives are NOT fine...

Please let us know all relevant info:

Windows version on your server.
If W2003, is Removable Storage Manager service stopped and disabled?
Did this work fine before or new installation?

Please run this report for the last 2-3 days:

Tape Log report
Use the Filter to exclude Info messages - this will leave us with Warning and Error messages.
Export (save) the report as .txt file and upload here as File Attachment.

For further troubleshooting, ensure bptm log folder exists under ...\netbackup\logs folder.
Also add VERBOSE entry to vm.conf file in ...\volmgr folder, followed by restart of NBU Device Manager service.

Device-related errors will now be logged in Event Viewer System and Application log.
This, combined with bptm log should tell you what is wrong with your devices.
