On the backup create the vmcloglevel dword and set it to 3. Create the bpvmutil log folder and re-run the restore.
Also make sure you have the latest vmware rollup patch installed for your version of NBU.

Hi pikachu
Sorry for my question. Did this patches come from Symantec or from VMWare ?
Did there exist any list of recommendations for 7.0.1 and ESXi 4.1 ?
The Rollup NB_7.0.1_ET2105102_5 for 7.0.1 was applied.

=> Symantec
Did there exist any list of recommendations for 7.0.1 and ESXi 4.1 ?
=> In what regard?
The Rollup NB_7.0.1_ET2105102_5 for 7.0.1 was applied.
=> The highest one is 14.
Did you have a chance to get the bpvmutil log yet?

Hi pikachu
I've set the loglevel to 3 and restarted the services, but there will be no change for bpvmutil. All entries are from Backup-Jobs.
What about this Rollup. This "14" is it a Part of it or a Follow-Up ?
Kind regards
Thomas

Restarting nbu is not necessary for bpvmutil, because it is a legacy service and it will only be called if needed aka dynamic.
I am pretty sure the issue will be in the bpvmutil log file. You can setup vxms logging, however I do not think it even gets that far. Get me the log and I will try to help.
