Error 46 - Client access not allowed

A client of mine is facing the following problem on NetBackup 5.0 MP7
Yes, I know it's totally out of date, and I'm pushing for them to upgrade or at the very least apply the latest MP.

Anyway, in a two-node NetWare 6.5 Cluster one node crashed and had to be reinstalled. Long story short, when trying to back it up it always fail with a error 46. So trying to do anything on this node for the Master server fails, trying to get properties of the client fails with error 46.

I've verified ping, nslookup, hosts files, telnet in both directions and it all works OK, no problems what so ever. I've even tried removing the client out of the backup server, removing it from all policies and whacked it from the clients list.
I then tried reinstalling the NB client on the NetWare still the same problem.

I'm unable to find anything on this and don't have much hair left. Any suggestions as what to do next?

Extract from the bpcd log on the client:

Does the client that errors out have multiple interfaces? If so could this be the casue of the confusion?

IIRC, yes it does. How would I go about preventing NetBackup from trying th wrong interface?

Thanks

I am doing this from memory (which is not very good) but I believe that you can create a file called dedicated_interface (or somethign) in /usr/openv/netbackup/dedicated_interface and in that interface put the hostname of the interface. Just hit the manual and look for dedicted interface you will find it. Or you could just add a host route on the server to the client, that will probably work as well.

try this link out http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/269879.htm also if you do a search in forums and blogs on dedicated interface there are alot of posts. Try this one: https://forums.symantec.com/syment/board/message?board.id=21&message.id=19213&query.id=7043#M19213

Hope this helps.
