Error Message in Veritas Netbackup

Hi,

Iam using Veritas Netbackup (in RHEL) for backup operations and backup is not happening. I have checked in Job details about the error, it says "awaiting resource backup-hacrt2. Will retry physical later.

I tried the following :

1) stop and start netbackup services in the server
2) restarted the server

But still the same problem happens.

Kindly suggest.

Check whether your media is define as hcart2.
Check whether tape is available in your target volume pool or scratch pool.
This can be done at Netbackup Admin Console -> Media & Device Mgmt -> Media -> Volume Pools

I've seen that message when drives are showing as down in 6.0. In previous versions of NetBackup, it reacted differently to down drives, but I've noticed recently that it can give you that message when drives are down.
