For testing prior to production implementation we are trying to do a full machine restore of a virtual server. Backup job run successfully. Server has been deleted. Restore job runs, restores files to netbackup proxy server but then the converter process fails.  Does anyone have experience of this?   M

Netbackup 6.5.4
VMware vCenter Converter 4.1.1.6534
VMware Consolidated Backup 1.5.0.5584
ESX 4.0.0,208111
Backup Proxy server is Windows 2003 Server Sp2  (and so is  machine that we are trying to restore).

Netbackup  Activity Monitor:
Executing converter restore
Converter restore failed,
Failed to recover the requested files.

Errors from the tar logfile:

However this might be your issue here with the following statement from the NBU6 supportability guide for virtual environments.
The ftp://exftpp.symantec.com/pub/support/products/NetBackup_Enterprise_Server/312604.pdf guide says that

VMware Converter 4.0 is not compatible with VCB backups.
