How do I figure if Netbackup is 32 or 64 bit, on RedHat Enterprise 5

Hello,

I am trying to upgrade a Red Hat Ent 5 Linux server with Netbackup Media server to 7.5. The os is 64 bit (2.6.18-128.el5 X86_64 GNU/Linux) . I have downloaded the following file from symantec Netbackup_7.5_LinuxR_x86_64.tar.gz. When I run the installer it tells me the following:

The Netbackup and Media Manager software is built for use on LINUX_RH_X86 hardware.

Netbackup is currently at release level 7.1

This package will install release level 7.5

Do you want to reinstall Netbackup and Media Manager?

The install package contains a folder with the name LINUX_RH_X86 as well. This is a bit confusing. The install PDF from Symantec says that since version 7 32 bit is not supported anymore. So am I using the correct version of netbackup software for this system.

Is the reference above about the general CPU architecture (X86 meaning Intel) or a reference that it is 32 bit?

You are using the correct version. X86 is just to differentiate from the IA64  (Itanium)  version.
