Only 64-bit OS is supported as from NBU 7.0.
Version 6.5.x was the last to support 32-bit Linux. This version reached EOL in 2012.

If you have VMware in your environment, your best option is to virtualize this client and back it up as a VM.

Another option would be to NFS mount the filesystems on a supported Unix/Linux server and backup through the supported client.

Best: Speak to server owners and suggest that they migrate to newer hardware and OS.
My guess is that they have support issues with other vendors as well.

@Shamin23

I found this post in the 'General Veritas' forum and moved it to NetBackup.

The installation error says " Detected an attempt to install incorrect platform and/oroperating system version.... "

Have you confirmed OS compatibility ?
NBU 8.x OS SCL: https://www.veritas.com/bin/support/docRepoServlet?bookId=NB_80_OSSCL&requestType=pdf
Is this a 32-bit or 64-bit client?

Please confirm contents of /etc/oracle-release and/or /etc/redhat-release as well as 'uname -a' output.

Please post output of all of these:

contents of /etc/oracle-release and/or /etc/redhat-release as well as 'uname -a' output.

NBU installation checks all of these when running the install script.
