Then it boils down to the client and not software. Could it be the other host is X86 based Solaris host ?

Have you seen the 1st error?

/bin/date: not found

Why would that be?

2nd error:

NetBackup client software for the Solaris platform is not on this media.

It seems you are trying to install from a remote mount point - is this right?
If from NFS mount - is software mountpoint shared with root access for Solaris server?

Any chance you can mount or copy software locally?

Where are you trying to install from?
Are you running './install' from the top of the mount point/ software folder?

Are you running the installer as root by the way ?

We still don't know which folder you are trying to install from.

You need to be at the top of the mountpoint or extracted folder.

Show us 'pwd' output and 'ls' where you are starting the installation from.

This is the correct folder from where installation must be run.

Can you show us contents of  /usr/openv/tmp/install_trace.18574

Can you show us all the folders seen in this path under NBClients?

cd NBClients/anb/Clients/usr/openv/netbackup/client ?

There are two installations CD for the clients as I can re-call i 7.5 GA. Have you tried the other CD/download file ?

I think until 7.5 there were 2 or 3 downloads that had to be merged.... (speaking under correction... do not have a 7.5 license handy to confirm).

bash-3.2# cat install_trace.18574

The 1st check that 'install' script performs is 'uname -s', followed by 'uname -p'.

What is output of these commands on this server?

rizkihwn

hi marianne, this is the output

bash-3.2# uname -p && uname -s
sparc
SunOS

Iam still troubleshooting this issue, it is possible to copy /usr/openv/ from other server who installed successfully to this server?

We will need to see what happens when script is run in verbose mode. I will not recommend to copy folders from another client as pkg info will be missing and PBX installation will not be there. Not to mention startup script. Any possibility you can use any of the push install methods?
