Installed HP-UX 11.23 netbackup client on itanium, getting weird TAR error

Trying to install newly downloaded NetBackup 6.5 client on HP-UX 11.23, Itanium, and I'm getting a weird tar error.

I did remember to install gnu tar first, version info:

xxHP6:/storagefs> /bin/tar --version
tar (GNU tar) 1.26

I used NB_65_CLIENTS1_20070723 and that must have been the correct client download, because it correctly identified the machine.  But the install script, after asking for master server and name and such, got this weird tar error, and stopped.

/bin/tar: You may not specify more than one `-Acdtrux' or `--test-label' option
Try `/bin/tar --help' or `/bin/tar --usage' for more information.
tar failed unpacking client_bin.tar.Z on muhp6.
Cannot complete the client install.

"Normal" OS tar is fine for version 6.5. gtar is only required for NBU 7.1 Client installation.

Have you verified other requirements? e.g. filesystem supports log filenames, etc...

Please also verify required Operating system patches and updates - see Release Notes for UNIX, Linux, and Windows http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH52796

Thank you for the info, once you used the regular HP-UX tar, the install went fine.  I guess I just figured I needed gnu tar, since the only other HP-UX installs i had done were 7.1
