Is LUN considered to be local drive?

NB-OPS

Hi,

This is a basic question: I am trying to back up a Windows Server 2008 client that has attached to LUNs on NetApp. In the NetBackup policy, I'ved selected ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES. Will the LUNs be backed up as well? If it will, is there any way NOT to have the LUNs backed up other than selecting the true local drives explicitly?

Thank you.

SAN LUNs will be backedup as part of ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES. If you do not want them to be backed up, put them in client exclude list. You can do it either from BAR gui on client or NBU Administration console --> Client Host Properties.

Hi,

LUN will be a part of ALL _ LOCAL_DRIVES. As Kiran said you can exclude the directory from client side. Please find the TN for the same.
