Hello Team,
Our library is down. So is there any option we can take backup on any client system.
Is there any license required for that. Could i go for basic disk statging but i believe it wont allow except master and media server to take backup?

The basic disk storage unit does not require any additional license. You can backup clients to a basic storage unit just like to tape - there are no restrictions. You may want to configure the stu as a staging disk storage unit it it will offload to tape when the robot is back online.

The admin manual mention the DSSU as well

Yes.
Only master and media server can backup to tape or disk.
If you want a client to backup to local storage (disk or tape) you need Enterprise Client license for the client and install media server software. This will allow you to create a disk storage unit for the client and select the STU in client policy.
Best to add disk storage to master or media server and take backups there while library is getting repaired.

1:- Ok So Enterprise Client license means I need to install license key on master server for the client and on client i need to install netbackup Media server software. Then i can create Storage Unit for this client and i can use its storage as disk based backup from master server. Pls correct me if i am wrong.
2:- So how many license do we need if we need to make 3 such media servers?

No. When you install media server software on the client, it will prompt you for a license key. This is where you need Enterprise Client license.
BUT - It has been a week since your robot was down. Sure it should be fixed by now?
