We are planning to deploy MSDP optimized Duplication between 2 sites(Same Netbackup Domain). It is a simple architecture that we are trying to develop and deploy
Site 1:-
1 Master Server
2 Media Servers configured as Storage Servers with MSDP Storage Pools
3 Both Media Servers has local storage which will be leverage for these storage pools.
Site 2:-
1 Media Servers Configured as Storage Servers with MSDP Storage Pools.
2 These Media Servers will have storage disks from iSCSI Storage.
3 Media servers will be connected to a Tape Library with 4 drives.
No Clients @ Site 2. all the clients are based out Site 1.
Question 1:- Can i configure SLP to Create a local backup in site 1 on to the MSDP storage pool and then duplicate the same using optimized duplication to the remote site (site 2)??
Question 2:- Since it is a single NBU Domain, can i safely replicate the images from Site 1 to Site 2? Is there anything that is missed out in the above setup?
Question 3:- There is no storage to storage connectivity between Site 1 and Site 2. However, Network connectivity is available between all the servers.I'm bit puzzled on reading this note from Netbackup Notes -> "The common server must have the credentials and the connectivity for both the source storage and the destination storage" Does this mean, the media Server in Site 1 should be connected to the storage in Site 1 and Site 2??
Quick reply on this queries would certainly help in putting out the soln in right direction.
