Master server moving to other DC (7.6.0.2)

Our Physical master server + its DAS is moving to another data centre, connectivity/visibility will still remain inteact to media servers no IP level or VLAN changes or network layer changes, however the ML6000 attached to the Brocade switches on FC, will need to change to be controlled by the Media server that remains behind, the master server used to be the control host for this shared library but since its moving it wont be able to.

I tried changing it the other day and make the media server control host and in device manager it showed that it had changed, but running an inventory or doing clean just brings errors and its like its not seeing the media as the control host, anything I am missing or need to follow?

Its a shared library between master+media and the master controlled it (changer etc...)

You will first of all need to delete all devices on the master server - tape drives and the robot.

Check that you have library based tape drive licences installed on the media server andthat robot and tape drives are visible at OS level and using 'scan'.

If this media server was previously used with robot configured as 'remote', delete robot config.
Use the device config wizard to re-add devices on media server and allow NBU to restart services.

Inventory should now work as expected.

Remember to change all media ownership of Assigned tapes to the media server.

Also need to move the media from the master to the media server, bpimage is the command to use if I remember correctly

The standard questions: Have you checked: 1) What has changed. 2) The manual 3) If there are any tech notes or VOX posts regarding the issue
