Hi Team,
We have Clustered master using SRDF which replicates LUN, we are trying to upgrade the master server to 7.6.0.2 from 7.5.0.6.
Now as per symantec tech note they say we need to suspend replication, but then we cant bring the SRDF resource of cluster online in secondary for upgrade.
So now work around is that we need to stop replication that means breaking relation between both nodes.
So my concern is will the SRDF resource come online with replicaton broken, there is no relation between two nodes.
Also we have issue with applying patch 7.6.0.2 to 7.6.0.1 plz help ASAP.
Kindly help,
Many Thanks,

Hi All,
We were able to solve the issue. By removing an unwanted service from cluster monitored services.
Thanks all.

When Symantec say suspend replication I think they mean either SLP or AIR replication.
Can you post a reference to the tech note ?

Hi All,
We were able to upgrade the secondary node by splitting the replication, however the upgrade was successful on secondary node.
Then we resumed replication from primary node to secondary node and failed over to secondary node only to find that NBU services keep going down on secondary node.
However primary node works fine, anybody faced similar issue, kindly help.
Many Thanks,
Bshet.

If configured correctly, SRDF should overwrite the catalog LUN on the secondary node upon resumption of replication. If you could be more specific about the errors you facing it would help resolve the issue

Hi All,
The error is as below.
NetBackupVCS:NetBackup_Server-NBU:clean:Failed to open the service 'NetBackup Event Manager'. Error 1.
The replication seems to be happening fine as we can verify the LUN consistency at storage level.
Alos we have VCS/nbu working fine independently however when we start NBU using VCS the issue occurs.
Many Thanks.

Silly question.... but I have to ask anyway...
Did you remember to stop the vcs agent for NBU before the upgrade and start again afterwards?
This will ensure that updated agent is used after the upgrade.
haagent -stop NetBackup -force -sys <node>
haagent -start NetBackup -sys <node>

Hi Marianne,
Yes we did that during upgrade.
We had followed the exact stpes advised by symentec in the upgrade guide and only had kept the resources till IP and mount point UP.
Many Thanks.

Hi Marianne,
The issue was one of the service which is not required in our infrastructure was in monitored services of cluster, removing this solved the issue.
Many Thanks,
Bshet.
