Has anyone gone down the road of putting a media server out in AWS to do backups of stateful data in a virtual private cloud? We're considering this route so that we can minimize the amount of operational procedure changes involved with backup/restore of our VPC infrastructure.
The idea would be to have a media server installed on a system in the AWS VPC with NetBackup 7.5 installed on it. This media server would backup systems in the VPC to Amazon S3. It would be controlled by a master server in one of our physical datacenters.
My thought is that this *should* work... but was hoping someone may have some practical experience doing something like this?
