NBU 6.0 Upgrade Question

Hi,
I am upgrading an HP-UX Master & Media server from 5.0 MP5 to 6.0 MP4 and would like to start with a clean install on the master server. I am planning on completely removing 5.0 form the master, installing 6.0 MP6 and running bprecover to import the catalog. I will then upgrade the media sever to 6.0 MP6. My question is will I have to run nbpushdata on the media server since the catalog is already recovered? If not will this cause any issues since the nbpushdata is never performed on the media server but the media server was upgraded from 5 to 6?

Hi John,

From my understanding, you can't run bprecover to import a NB5 catalog backup to NB6 master serevr. You need to work on the existing NB5 master server and do the installation/upgrade of NB6 as outlined in "Upgrading Netbackup Server Software" section of Netbackup 6.0 Installation Guide.
