NBU 6.5.5 BMR Restore Error

Hi,

I am trying to restore a windows 2003 client using Bare Metal Restore Fast boot.  When the pre-restore process starts, I get and error message stating "Could not read the xml file, Z:\disc.xml".  When I press OK here, it is followed by another error "The resoter has stopped due to the following error:  Failed to verify backup --rc(227)".  Attached is the bmrrst log file.  Appreciate if someone could help.

Shiraz,

Are you doing a self restore or have changed the underlying disks ? This is most likely caused due to disk driver ( MSD device driver)  not able to recognize the disks.

Please verify if all the required drivers as listed in BMR configuration are part of the SRT. If any driver is missing "Prepare To Restore" option will give a warning.

Hi,  I am doing a restore on the same hardware, but with a different disk.  The RAID controller drivers are loaded in the SRT and I am not recieving a warning when I do "Prepare to Restore".  I ran a "Prepare to Discover" on the client.  It was successful.and shows me the disk configuration on the client.

This could be bug related to timezone which we fixed in the 7.0 release. You can contact Symantec Support and raise a service request for this.

And also, I get the error, "Argument 'sTimeZoneName' is not in the valid range."

Where you able to find out what was the cause of this problem and how did you fix it?

There is an engineering binary available that can fix this issue. Please contact Symantec Support for your respective NetBackup release version.
