Dear Experts,

I am working on a upgrade project where the master is at 6.0 MP7 with WIndows 2003 SP2 32 bit but the hardware is 64 bit. Customer is ready to go for a clean installation of 64 bit operating system. I have following queries -

1. What upgrade path can I choose?

First upgrade to 6.5 keeping 32 bit OS and then upgrade OS to 64 bit and then installation NBU 7.0 and then import catalog? Please suggest best possible way so as to have minimum risk.

2. The clients are at different version i.e. 5.0 5.1 6.0. What order should I keep in upgrading these clients.

Thanks

Hi,

Upgrade to 6.5 on 32 bit

Use this note to move to 64 Bit http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH77447

Upgrade all your clients to 6.5

Upgrade to 7.0/7.1

Take note that some clients are not supported on 7.x i.e. Windows 2000 and any Linux/Unix 32Bit operating systems. You'll have to leave these clients on 6.5. There are certain database versions that are also not supported on 7.x. Check the SCL on the netbackup support site when you're planning.
