A few pointers:

1. Add the mailbox server where the restore will be going to the Additional Servers list on the Master Server

2. Run the BAR GUI from that mailbox server (running as administrator)

3. Source client is mailbox server (i believe), Destination is DAG

4. make sure everything has a NBU client installed (MBX and CAS)

5. Make sure you have completed the Distributed Application Mapping section in the Master Servers Host Properties

6. Make sure NetBackup Client Service and NetBackup Legacy Client Service are running as you Exchange account

Read through the links below in case they also apply

Hope this helps

Next, we were receiving an β€œrai error = 6”

Β·         Updated β€œDistributed Applications” (Master Server Properties) in the NetBackup Administrative Console:

Application Host = MB1          Component Host = email.company.com

Application Host = MB2          Component Host = email.company.com

Β·         Restore is now working.

( of course you would enter your site-specific hostnames )
