I am backing up an Oracle database and also numerous filesystem files. After upgrade from 6.0 to 6.5, backup times increased from about 1.5 hours to more than 7 hours.
Any suggestions for me to troubleshoot this?
Here's what I know so far.
1. It does not happen every day. So far, it only occurs on Tuesdays.
2. It happens on both hot and cold backup types.
3. It is occurring on multiple servers
4. Reboot of the master backup server seems to correct the problem.
