NOM 6.5.3 installation problems

Hi,

I am trying to run a POC on NOM 6.5.3.

I have an old Ultra 10 running solaris 10 fully patched and NBU 6.5.3 client is already installed.

I install in this sequence:

1. Install VRTSat 6.5.3
2. Install VRTSnom 6.5
3. Install NOM 6.5.3 update patch.

During the installation, I accept defaults, so this should not be an issue.

The problem is that whenever I run nomps I get the message "VRTSnomd is not running"

I try to restart it and get the same result.

I try to connect to the web page but never see the NOM_BuiltIn domain listed and because of this, I am unable to login.

I have attached the output from nomsupport.

Has anybody had this issue before?

did you install the ICS?

Was your NOM working when it was just at 6.5?  (Did you check before applying the release update?)

I don't know if you can just remove 6.5.3 and check, or if you have to start over with a fresh 6.5 install.

If it DOES work at 6.5, go ahead and log in once (and make sure THAT works) before you re-apply 6.5.3.

This is a first time install.

Prior to installing VxAT, I installed the PBX from the ICS 6.5 CD.

I have also tried with just installing NOM 6.5.

I had today exactly the same problem.

First time I installed the patch then NOM was running and after that I got exactly the same message:
"VRTSnomd is not running"

My solution was, that before I upgraded NOM to version 6.5.3 I stopped all NOM services:
/opt/VRTSnom/bin/nom_server stop
and after that installed the patch (6.5.3)
