Hello Everyone,
I have 4 clients say
C1 - C2 - C3 - C4 Added in one policy A1 and a cluster configured using nodes CLU1 added in another policy B1
what should be the backuo selection list/configuration, so that
All nodes should backup-up only OS related file systems
and cluster should only backup common file systems.
What should be the contents of exclude_list.A1 and exclude_list.B2
As of now whenver i am running jobs, it starts all the streams for all clients as well as cluster
Backup selection list i am using is 'ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES" and using multistreaming

I created 4 seperate policy with each individual node, and 1 policy for cluster node..
After that everything is working fine.

Use your node names for the local disks
Use your cluster name for the floating disk.
Use ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES but add a exclude_list.policy to exclude the floating disk for the cluster when backing up the nodes.
Just use the clustered floating disk in the backup selection for the cluster name.
That should do it.

Because you are using different policies - you shouldn't need exclude or include lists, IF...
...in policy A1 just specify the volumes which all exist privately on all the member nodes.
...and in policy B1 just specify the 'shared' resource path.
This does of course mean that these two policies are specific to this cluster.
I always try to keep it simple. If it involves a few more backup policies, so be it.

What is being clustered in this environment?
Fileserver?
Or database? More than one instance?
More than one Cluster Group (Service Group) with Virtual hostname each?
We can provide better advice if you share all relevant info.

Its Linux nodes..This cluster is used for application. and is pointing to one of the actual node
I cant specify selection-list individually thats why i am using 'ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES'
I am putting out a sample file system for one of the node
Node1
/system/contract
/proc
/etc/mnttab
/etc/svc/volatile
/opt/clu-fs1
/opt/clu-fs2
/opt/clu-fs3
These /opt/clu-fs file systems are mounted on all nodes and are common file system
I want /opt/clu-fs to be backed up exclusively by one policy and other OS related files for all nodes in one policy
Please adivce me on how to configure exclude_list

This sounds like cluster with something like CFS (Cluster File System).
There should be a virtual hostname associated with the cluster group (service group).
None of these are filesystems that need to be backed up:
/system/contract
/proc
/etc/mnttab
/etc/svc/volatile
Check what mount points are seen as 'local' with 'bpmount' command on all nodes.

Hi Marianne,
Actually it might be case , cluster policy as well node policy start at same time.
I am trying to modify schedule for node and cluster instead os starting both at same time just to see if it resolves the issue.

Can you show us output of 'bpmount' on both cluster nodes?
The command is in /usr/openv/netbackup/bin.

I created 4 seperate policy with each individual node, and 1 policy for cluster node..
After that everything is working fine.
