Hi Guys,
Currently I'm still totally new to Netbackup. This error start when my boss ask to revive back the old server that have been kept almost 1 year. The machine are Sun Fire V440 with SL500. The adventures are when I've tried to troubleshoot the Netbackup 5.1 Java GUI (jnbSA).
OS : Solaris 9
I have tried using as per below solution, but still no luck.

Zarl,
Firstly, NetBackup 5.1 has been out of support for nearly 3 years.
Secondly does this server have a valid network connection working?
Is the license still valid? It hasn't expired?
Have you set-up the netbackup\logs\bpjava-msvc log? If so, what do the contents say when you try and login?

Check all of the following:
local hostname lookup: /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpclntcmd -self
processes running: /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpps -a
Contents of /usr/openv/netbackup/bp.conf
NBU entries in /etc/services
NBU entries in /etc/inetd.conf
output of 'netstat -a'
PS: what is the purpose of 'reviving old server'?
I doubt if any of us still have 5.1 manuals around to troubleshoot and see what should be contained in services and inetd.conf - will have to find these docs on Symantec knowledge base...
My gut-feel is missing entries in services and/or inetd.conf.

Here is an sample log in working 5.0GA environment.
Compareing with your log, I doubt that bpjava-msvc child process crashed when loading pam module. It is curious that bpjava-msvc request 'nbu' pam servce instead of 'login' service. Are there any customized setting relating with it?

Hi Yasuhisa,
Currently at that moment, if Im not mistaken, the log have combined with the successful login. The problem if when I login using APRSKULBKP00002. How to know I've the modified pam module?

Hi revaroo,
Here is the output as per requested.

I suppose your server has been customized by the method described in this technote.
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH68559
By the way, your log shows only failed login attempted from 10.192.168.5 whereas IP address of APRSKULBKP00002 is 10.192.168.5.
To isolate your issue, please remove(or rename) pam_service.txt and try again.

Hi Yasuhisa,
I've tried the guide from the link it seem still the same error. Below is the log from :

Have you tried removing pam_service.txt?
I assume that someone customized PAM authentication by making pam_service.txt. I want to see if you can connect to the server with default configuration. By default, pam_service.txt does not exit, and NetBackup authenticate user through "login" PAM service.
