Netbackup 6.5.2 master server can't connect to Windows 2008 X64 client.

I'm having trouble backing up a Windows 2008 X64 client.  I had an exchange administrator install the Windows 2008 X64 Netbackup client on a 2008 - X64 exchange server.  Afterwards, I created a policy for the exchange server on a Windows Server 2003 -32 bit Netbackup master server and I ran the backup.  It failed with a status 58 - can't connect to client.  Additionally, I tried to connect to the client through "host properties" on the master server and it failed to connect with the error, "can't connect to socket (25).  I have verified that the master and media servers are listed correctly on the client's server list.  What do you think might be causing my problem?  Thanks.

My first guess would be an issue with a firewall on the client.  Have you checked that?

Have you done the first steps to verify connection?

can you ping the client by ip AND name.

from the client can you ping the master by ip and NAME

have you verified using nslookup that both an forward and reverse lookup give you the SAME name for the client - you need to do this from the master server.

then from the client do the same for the master.

do these steps first before you start looking at anything else.
