Netbackup 6 and Microsoft SUS or (WUS)

Hi,

Has anyone got any tips about how to backup/restore Microsoft SUS (or WUS)? I've searched for anything to do with this and found almost nothing. The ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES will cover all files (or will it?) but I think there's a db to backup as well (I currently don't know much about SUS but I'll get there....).

Cheers,

Timbo

Tim,
For WSUS, it uses a WMSD Database. If you use VSS to backup the filesystems with NBU, this will also backup the DB and logs. This is the supported way to do this according to microsoft.

Thanks Aaron - It may well be on a Win2k box so VSP should do the same thing perhaps? Do you have any links to any KB docs? I've found a bit of info at MS and http://www.wsuswiki.com/susfaq which seems to be quite good - I'll check it out.

Cheers,

Tim

Unfortunatly, I don't know that VSP will work. I tried that initially, and I was not able to get a good backup:
Here is some information:
http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/Library/c0f1a661-eb48-4156-81a2-267d846f844f1033.mspx?mfr=true

Looks like it depends on if you are using WMSDE/SQL etc.

We are using W2K3 with WMSDE which means VSS works great!
