Netbackup FT Media Server

Level 3

Hello All,

Before I log this one I was wondering if anybody else has had this error trying to set up FC media server.

Installing the Jungo WinDriver and Fibre Transport Server.
Uninstalled WinDriver for FT Server mode.

The following automatic startup and shutdown scripts (respectively) have
been installed.  They will cause the NetBackup Fibre Transport Server daemon
to be automatically shut down and restarted each time the system boots.

It may be necessary to temporarily unload your QLogic drivers
to free up the ports for the nbhba drivers.

This is an optional step.  If you choose not to do this, the
Fibre Transport Server may not have access to the marked HBA
ports until a subsequent reboot.

Would you like to unload and reload your native QLogic drivers now? [y,n] (y) y

Are you sure you want to unload QLogic driver: qla2xxx? [y,n] (y) y
Removing qla2xxx.

Cannot continue since qla2xxx is in use and cannot be removed.

Please release references to qla2xxx before trying the install again.

You have new mail in /var/spool/mail/root

modprobe -r qla2xxx

FATAL: Module qla2xxx is in use.

 /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbhba -L

6 ports recognized; 0 target mode ports; mode : Fibre Transport server installed but not running.
Error #227: no entity was found

Any ideas?

Have a look at the TN below. Easiest is to remove the module from boot time see point 2.

2. Add "alias qla2xxx off" to /etc/modprobe.conf or /etc/modprobe.d/fc-hba.conf
