Does bptestbpcd -host "client name" complete successfully for all clients that are part of your dag?

You can find the command in INSTALL_PATH\Veritas\NetBackup\bin\admincmd\

Have you configured the distributed application properties in your master server's host properties?

Hi Riaan,

Thanks for your reply. I am windows admin, i dont hav much idea abt linux. Installation and configuration has done by previous employer (linux engineer). I have given task to take backup of DAG.

I tried your command in master server i got socket read error.

Regarding host properties, remaing clients are able to communicate properly.

Pradeep

Ok, can you ping that host from the master? If so, check the firewall on the windows server.

From your uk2netbackup server run

netcat (or nc) if installed

netcat -zvv uk2sr102 1556

netcat -zvv IP ADDRESS OF UK2SR102 1556

On uk2sr102 run

telnet localhost 1556

telnet uk2netbackup 1556

telnet IP ADDRESS OF UK2NETBACKUP 1556

If telnet is not installed, install it

To all your dag nodes?

We need to see if port connectivity as well as forward and reverse name lookup works.

If the Linux server is not on DNS, you need to add hosts entries on the master/media server as well as on all the DAG nodes.
The DAG nodes must be able to resolve server IP address to a hostname that appears in the NBU Server registry entries.

So, to troubleshoot, do all of the following:
Create bpcd folder under netbackup\logs on all the DAG nodes.

Please do the following from master/media server (Do this for all DAG node names and the virtual hostname):

bptestbpcd -client <hostname> -verbose -debug

Please post output of command.
If log is created in client bpcd folder, copy the file to bpcd.txt and upload as File attachment.

PS:
Please copy the text in bptestbpcd output, rather than taking screenshots.
