Netbackup 7.6 - VTL unable to detect LTO6 Tapes for HP Storeonce 4420

Hi all

Currently running NBU 7.6, created VTL using HP Storeonce 4220 for LTO6.

NBU is able to detect the VTL LTO6 drives and appear under the library side. However when i tried to inventory the library, it return with no media detected.

Is it due to incompability issue for VTL LTO6? if yes, seems like i have to downgrade to the next supportability of the Drive?

Thanks

sngcc

I agree with Martin - it seems like VTL config issue, not NBU.

it return with no media detected.

Did you create the tape in VLT and are they controled under the same robot that you have added to the Netbackup?

On the robot control host run robtest

run the commmand

s s

Do you see tapes listed in the slots ?

If not, the VTL is not confiured correctly - the s s asks the robot to tell NBU what is in the slots, which is why it would be a VTL config issue, NBU does NOT look what is in the slots, which is why ot would not be a NBU issue.
