Netbackup Lifecycle & BasicDisk (CIFS) STU

Hi,

have some question regarding the job duplication with Netbackup Lifecycle.

My goal is to backup the servers & Applications to the DataDomain VTL and once a month duplicate the backups to physical tapes.

I've created a VTL STU but also a basicDisk STU with a DD CIFS share for the granular backups&Restore (need to be disk).

The goal is now to Duplicate the backups to physical tapes library with Lifecycle policies.

For the VTL STU to physical tapes STU, no problem that works.

BUT when I try to setup the Lifecycle policy for the BasicDisk to tape, I CANNOT select the BasicDisk STU..

Is that supported ? Should it work ?

SLP requirements are documented in the Admin Guides. Only Advanced Disk and tape is supported.

Hi,

You obviously have an Enterprise Disk License otherwise you wouldn't be using SLP's. You are therefore in luck :), simply delete your Basic Disk STU and create a Advanced Disk STU.

Do you have the OST license for your DD device? It performs a lot better than the CIFS option......
