You cannot move the catalog across, apart from the support issue pointed out by Marianne, the hostname of the machine is different.  Moving between different hostnames becomes a consulting task via a partner as quite simply, it's complex to do, not even Technical Support are allowed to do this.

You're best bet would be to upgrade the old server to 7.6.0.3, and then remove and reinstall the new server with 7.6.0.3, but, with the same hostname as the old machine.

Then take a catalog backup from the old server and recover it onto the new server.

One way to move policies from one domain to another is to open up two Windows Admin Consoles on the same machine (but connected to different Masters) and then you can copy/paste the policy from one to the other (right click on one policy, click copy, go to the other console, right clicke on Polices, click paste.

This does make some assumptions: 1) the retention duration files are the same on both systems (it's a text file so you can copy it over) and that any SLP's also exist (I did my manual migration before SLP's existed so don't know if you can copy/paste them)

After it shows up you'll then need to double-click each one and make sure that the storage unit gets updated and that everything else looks right.

One other note...if you do it this way then you can migrate a few at a time, disable them on the old box and enable them on the new box and then make sure they work...

Just make sure to disable any that you do move (you might even want to disable before the copy/paste) so that they come over disabled and don't kick in immediately before you get a chance to check them out.

Hi, you need to catalog manipulation project to perform this activity otherwise its hard to manage oldest backuped data. but if your aim is just a copied old policies from old server to new server at this point copy class directory on win 2008 and paste it to the same directory on win 2012.

Netbackup Server 6.5.6 installed which having different Windows version(2012R2)

W2012 is only supported as from NBU 7.6.0.3!

See  NBU OS SCL: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH76648

You can copy the ..\netbackup\db\class folder across, but what about all the backup images?
