Netbackup and Oracle VM

MC1
Not applicable
Good day,

We are considering using Oracle VM for server virtualization (RHEL and Windows virtual machines) - we have considered VMWare, but due to Orace support across the 'stack', we would prefer to go with Oracle VM. While I can find 'certification' of NetBackup enterprise clients on VMWare, and some references to XEN (Oracle VM is based on XEN), there does not appear to be any 'certification for NetBackup enterprise clients on Oracle VM.

Has anyone else tried this, and if so could you provide feedback on your experiences - good, bad, or other.

Many thanks,
Mike,
University of Pretoria, South Africa.

AFAIK there are no "plug and play" backups solutions for XEN. You have to backup all the hosts using a NBU client in each VM.

I am also quite interested in using Netbackup with Oracle VM. If anyone has any experiences with this, I would be keen to hear about them too..

Thanks!
Teresa.
