Hello,
I have a problem on our envrionment where we are receiving backup failures on some of our servers we are backing up. Upon investigation Netbackup Client services has been stopped but not by any user or admin.
This seams to be triggered by some application or possibly by netbackup.
The servers affected appear to be Citrix PVS 6.1 servers all contained in 1 site out of 12. All servers in any other site have there services stopping. This is also on Windows servers only.
Has anyone else experianced anything like this?
Many thanks in advance,
Matt.

Anything in Event Viewer System or Application logs?
We have seen McCaffee AV software stopping NBU services. Clients and Servers.
See http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH56658
(Problem seen with other versions as well.)

Hi Marianne,
Appologies i have been mis-informed. The services are not randomly shuting down they are not starting after a reboot even though they are set to automatically start. there is nothing in the event or application logs.
Sophos 10.3 is used on this network.

The two client services are "bpcd -standalone" and "vnetd -stnadalone". What happens when you try to start them manually? Is there an error seen?
Ensure that bpcd and vnetd have local legacy logging enabled and look in the debug directory to see if the debug file is actually ceated and if so, what it is showing for service start up and shutdown.
