Hi,
There is an application using the same ports as Netbackup (7.5), is there a work around?
Thanks in advance.

Symantec has officially registered port 1556.
Please show your application team this URL:
http://www.iana.org/assignments/service-names-port-numbers/service-names-port-numbers.xml
Registered port numbers are listed in numeric order.
Application will have to change port number.

The application is Windows crystal report. Without shutting down the netbackup agent, the application failed to run.

I also googled and found 1566 port is used by Crystal Reports in some case, but the port NetBackup uses is 1556.

I concur with the above excellent posts, year back we have faced similar kind of issue..dint exactly remember the port no.
If it is Symantec registered port, please ask your SA to change the port for the application which is using symantec port.

Oracle listner also used 1556, but as Marianne pointed out this port as been assigned to Symantec.
Do not change the port at Netbackup at all
Doing so woææ require you to change port on ALL master, media and client at one time. Plus you had to change the default installation every time until end of time.
