Problem with exclusion in full backup schedule

Hi All,

I have a client named is93-1 its a primary file server and running on tape backup due to the huge size almost every drive runs on a different policy. But even after excluding still facing problems during full schedule in the policy

3_is93-1_general

Policy name

Backup selection

3_is93-1_general

All local drives

3_is93-1_GDrive_1800

G:

3_is93-1_JDrive_1800

J:

3_is93-1_merchpub

F:\merchantpub

3_is93-1_IDrive_1800

I:

3_is93-1_users

E:\users

Exclusion list.

3_is93-1_general

All schedules

G:

J:

F:\merchantpub

I:

E:\users

During incremental schedules exclusion works perfectly. But when full backup runs jobs for G,J.I drive gets to incomplete state 90:

We have frequency set for all the policy. So the jobs for G,J,I drives starts almost every day in a week

How to avoid this ?

Please advice

You need to add a "*" to the drive letter exclusions:

G:\*
J:\*
I:\*

I Have a question running through my mind. Please correct me if am wrong.

For example :

I have client name A which has full backed up from yesterday in policy 1.

If i add the same client under new policy named policy 2 in a incremental scheduled for a today.

What kind of backup will i get from policy 2 incremental or Full ?

Correct me if I am wrong but if you add the Client A to a different policy.

Say a full policy you should get a full since it is a different policy.

Even if the first polcy was a full.

At least this is how I see it in my head.

Ramaero - you should really open a new thread for a different question ... but in answer anyway it will run a differential but will backup everything as if it were a full and will continue to do so until it has actually run a full backup in the new policy
