Problems to Duplicated Data from Quantum Disk

Hello People

I have a Quantum Disk for doing all my backups. I'm using a Vault Job for duplicated imags to tape. But I see my job it's still like  hangged.

The Job coninue on this stage on the last 7 hours...It's still running?

What  log can I open to see any error?

I wouldn't say it hanged, looks like its still busy.

 

What you can do is check the tape and disk activity using O/S related commands / application to see if there is any disk / tape activity. If you're doing the duplication across the lan/wan to another server check the network activity.

 

You should see information in the bpdm and bptm logs.

Usually vaulting a large backup set takes time. Vault first scan the imagedb and evaluate all the images to match the criteria you set in the vault config. It then make a list of all the images eligable for vaulting ( again based on the vault parameters). Vault then make batches based on certain basis and then the batches are processed by the vault. If you give a large time frame for vault like vaulting backupimage from last 2 weeks or 1 month , this pre processing might take time depend upon the size of the database.
