Promoting media server to master

Can anyone advise on the procedure to do this?

Our master server is being decommissioned and the media server will become the new master/media server.

- Do any extra components need to installed from the binaries?
- What are the catalogs/dbs that need to be moved? I assume volume db has to be moved.

have many questions in this case...

The Media Server hostname is visible to the clients ?

The name of Master Server can see the same or different ?

Do you will have only a one Master/Media Server ?

1. Yes media server is visible to clients.

2. The hostname of the media server will not change when we promote it to the master.

3. Yes this will be a master/media server combined.
