How is faulting (client) bpbkar32 process related to PureDiskVolume going down?

We don't know exactly. It is a fact, that since the update from NetBackup 7.7.2 to NetBackup 8.0, we see lots of Application Crashes with bpbkar32.exe and in between the following messages from OpsCenter ...

There is no direct relation between bpbkar process and PureDiskVolume.
Troubleshoot this as 2 separate issues.

Are you seeing backups failing because of PureDiskVolume going down?

Have you checked status of disk pool on the master/media server to validate/verify the OpsCenter message?

This (fairly old) TN should help you to troubleshoot PureDiskVolume going down:
http://www.veritas.com/docs/000081906

Are you seeing backups failing because of PureDiskVolume going down? Yes!

Have you checked status of disk pool on the master/media server to validate/verify the OpsCenter message?  Will be done.

Checking http://www.veritas.com/docs/000081906 now ...

First of all, bad community technology! I needed to search 10 times for this thread, before I could reply to it! Please fix this asap !!!!!

The obvious solution might be ...

https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000023076

... and we had wrong figures in ...

SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS_DISK

We will see, if this fixes our problems. Last night all backup went through.

Regards,

Didi
