Queries regarding Replication Director

Dear Experts,

Please help me in following queries regarding Replication director.

1. Does the backup flows from LAN or SAN? I think OST is intended for LAN based backup.

2. How would the incremental backups/restore happen?

3. Does Netbackup initiates snapshot every time it invokes a backup or it uses the snapshot created within NetApp?
