Try loading the media like this : (on the media server)

tpreq -m <media id> -f /tmp/TAPE  (if windows, use a windows path)

Wait a minute or two, then see if vmoprcmd shows the media in a drive ?

To unload tpunmount -f /tmp/TAPE

Anything in the media server os system logs ?

Has this media server run a restore before ?

Any recent changes ?

just verify is there any media stuck into the drive CCC

use the robtest command and check out of s d  command output what does it shows?

also verify the system and application event logs for any errors as suggestd by Martin

Ping the drive: vmoprcmd -devconfig "-dev_ping -drive -path <path>"

Confirm is the same serial number of the drive you are trying to use an be sure the drive is not a standalone drive.

How many drives does that media server has?

If it has only one,What is the Physical status of that drive? Anything on library errors logs, Event viewer logs, syslogs ?

Did you try utilizing the different drive or media server?

Try tpreq and unmount commands mentioned by MPH999 also.

Checking status of this drive from library end also makes some spark.
