SAP Backup after upgrading client

Hi All,

We have netbackup 6.5.5 master server(HP Unix) and windows 2003 client with SAP DB..client 6.0
we took backup of onlinedb script and archive script , upgrade client to 6.5 and put the script back
to original location.. and also changed location of backint.exe file to commuicate wth netbackup
but backup is still failing, also modified initSIDutl and initSIDsap file , but backup is still failing
is there anything apart from above that needs to be modifled to make it work

You could create a backint log directory under <install path>veritas\netbackup\logs\backint

Then kick the backup off and review the logs in that directory.

I know in unix their is a softlink in the netbackup\bin directory to the backint binary that breaks when you upgrade clients.

(when looking through logs make sure in the bp.conf has VERBOSE = 5)

Amit, what are the netbackup logs on the client showing. bphdb and backint in particular. Also look in user_ops\dbext\logs directory

Hi nothing is created in backint even after setting verbosity to 5

Seems the problem is with execution of backint.exe
Please explain how did you 'change location' of backint.exe?
Did you copy the newly patched backint.exe from the NetBackup install folder to the SAP tools folder (as per NBU for SAP manual)?

Yes copied the backint.exe from netbackup/bin directory to database path .. from brtools backup is happeing fine
