Should NB 7.5 version be same for Restoring GRT Exchange backups

Master Media Server NB 7.5.0.4 

Exchange 2010 Netbackup Client Version 7.5.0.3

So it is necessary that both Master and Exchange server Client version be same for restoring the Exchange GRT?

No - master server and client can have diffrent versions. Rule of thumb is master server must be at the highest version.

However for the 7.5.0.X branch, the rule has been softned up a little. See page 14 to 15 of the Netbackup 7.5.0.5 relese notes

No - it isn't an issuse if the master and clients have differrent versions, but the Master server virsion must be higher than the clients or media servers.

Actually starting in 7.x , the master server doesnt have to be at the same or highger maintance pack   version than the media server and clients.   Please see

Not to say this is best pratices.  You should always apply the latest maintance pack.

so i made the exchange client to the same version i.e. 7.5.0.4  as master version , as its better to do it.

Yes,If you env can upgrade master server /media server /client to the same vesion ,it's best.
