Solaris on Intel as Media Server

trying to work out whether to give this a test or not. We get super throughput when going through a SUN box (SPARC) as a media server.

I was wondering how an Intel box would perform with Solaris 64 bit.

Any ideas guys?

Solaris x86/x64 is not supported as a master or media server.

Refer to the Compatibility matrix.

We are getting great throughput to tape with IBM 3850's running 64 bit RHEL4 and NBU 6.5.2.

Except Solaris 10 x86/x64 with NB6.5 (? )
